Effi Giannopoulou

She was born in Athens in 1967. She is a graduate of the Department of Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology of the School of Philosophy of the University of Athens, and recently completed the postgraduate program of Panteion University, titled “Gender, Society, Politics”. She works as a translator in the fields of literature, theater and the humanities, as well as a copy editor. She has translated, among others, Pierre Bourdieu, Pascale Casanova, Juan Rulfo, Carlos Fuentes, Roberto Bolaño, Federico García Lorca, and Tennessee Williams. She has collaborated with various publications and websites (Kathimerini, Unfollow, Avgi, Epochi, RedNotebook, etc.), publishing book and theater reviews, and articles of cultural criticism. Recently, she has been working as a consultant to the office of the Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports.
